GES MUN, Model United Nations
Model United Nations (MUN) is a simulation of the UN General Assembly and its other multilateral bodies where students perform an ambassador role of a particular country they are assigned to. They do extensive research about various topics such as gender equality, climate action, global health, environment, and many more. MUN is an effective way that helps to improve public speaking and develop skills like critical thinking, report writing diplomacy, leadership and researching. They build networks with other delegates and enhance their analytical skills in order to learn new skill sets.
Gaindakot English School (GES) started its own GES MUN in 2019 as a flagship program in collaboration with the Youth Thinkers’ Society (YTS) Chitwan. Since then we have organised GES MUNs every year by inviting students from other schools and districts. Students are found to be sharing how they have learned to engage in open discussions and interact actively on various global issues. Also, they have shared their experiences to be productive coming out of their comfort zone, preparing, and researching information on different agenda of committee sessions. Every year more than sixty participants have participated in GES MUNs.
