GES Model United Nations (MUN) - Edition I
The very first GES MUN was accomplished with the active participation of 60 students from 6 different schools in Nawalpur at Gaindakot English School from 1-2 Nov 2019. There were two committee sessions: United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and World Health Organization (WHO). The agendas were ‘Mitigating the Effects of Climate Change On Access to Water’ and ‘Universal Health Coverage Emphasis on Third World Countries’ respectively.
With 29 students in each committee, the first GES MUN went on for two days. Although it was the first time, some students proved to be extraordinary in expressing their perspectives authentically and creatively. Mr. Balkrishna Chapagain from the Education Department of Gaindakot Municipality was invited as the chief guest and Mr. Hiralal Aryal as the Secretary General in the concluding ceremony. Sanjeev Poudel, the chairperson of YTS-Chitwan was also present along with other executive members of YTS-Chitwan. Overall, the two day program was productive according to our students’ feedback.
